GOLDEN CELEBRATIONS!

The Maraka festival held annually in the township of Ingham in NQ is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary!

The Festival for 2009 will be revisiting past favourites of the events and introducing new and exciting events for you to enjoy.  With the 2009 Theme for the festival being "That's Gold - Maraka is Fifty Years Old" and many schools, businesses and local service clubs already hard at work, the 2009 Maraka festival will certainly have a function for you to enjoy.  Expect to see faces from every year of the festival throughout the fortnight of activities and many visitors to the beautiful Hinchinbrook region.

The Maraka festival is presented by the service clubs of Ingham. "It is our chance to give something back to the community that has supported us throughout the year". The service clubs involved are the Apex Club of Herbert River, Rotary Club of Ingham, Lower Herbert-Halifax Lions Club, Rotary Club of Herbert River and Lions Club of Ingham .
